The Royal Chicken is a member of the Ornithidae family of chicken. It has an odd appearance, with a beard that covers part of the eyelids. The nostrils are uncovered and visible, and the eyes are huge and flexible. The most common traits include three crests, five toes, and black and white flower feathers.
The imperial concubine hen's feathers are exceptionally luxurious, mimicking the feather caps used by European noblewomen, hence the moniker "precious woman chicken." Later, because the name "concubine" is more closely associated with ancient Chinese culture, it is more widely accepted. Then it became the "Royal Chicken."
