To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1 oz. Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coin, the Royal Canadian Mint created a concaved (incused) image for the front and back of the iconic Maple Leaf silver dollar.  The new look took this coin to a new level by having the leaf sit inside the silver surface instead of sticking out.
